Julia Drydyk

Executive Director

Julia has led the Centre as Executive Director since 2020, and brings to the role more than two decades of experience in community engagement, research, public policy and advocacy. Throughout her career, she has been a driving force behind numerous initiatives that address complex social challenges and support a safer, more just society for all.

Julia champions collective action, cultivating spaces for connection, shared learning and capacity building. Under her leadership, the Centre has become a catalyst for cross-sector partnerships, uniting survivors, governments, non-profits and private sector leaders in the fight to end all forms of human trafficking. Her work is grounded in a deep belief in the power of inclusive dialogue and community-led change.

Jennifer Fiddian-Green

Board Chair

Jennifer leads Doane Grant Thornton LLP’s Forensic Advisory practice. She has spent many years supporting efforts and raising awareness of fraud, corruption, money laundering and human trafficking issues across the country. Jennifer has led investigations, reported on cases, and managed teams focused on financial crimes. She also works with clients to strengthen governance structures to support ethical business practices, fraud prevention and regulatory compliance. Jennifer is honoured to serve as the Centre’s board chair and to collaborate on our shared goal to end human trafficking.

Chantel Butterfield

Board Member

Chantel is the executive director of the Sexual Assault Centre Sarnia-Lambton and CEO of Authentic Insight Consulting. She is a survivor of human trafficking, sexual violence and domestic violence, and has dedicated her career to advocacy, trauma support and systemic change. Chantel has led anti-human trafficking initiatives, chaired local coalitions and is known for her expertise in trauma-informed, client-centred care. She was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario Women Working in Social Activism Award. Chantel is currently completing her MA in leadership at Royal Roads University.

Sumit Chaudhary

Board Member

Sumit is the director of data governance at Coast Capital Savings, where he leads enterprise initiatives that align strategy, data and people to drive business value. With deep expertise in financial services and a track record of guiding organizations through growth and transformation, Sumit brings a strategic mindset and a people-first leadership style to his work. He is passionate about using data ethically and responsibly to drive systemic change — values that align closely with the mission to end human trafficking. Sumit lives in British Columbia and is committed to advancing social impact through governance and innovation.

Angela Kermer

Board Member

Angela, of Haida and Coast Salish lineage, carries the Haida name Sgaan Jaad Kwahst’aang. She is the principal of In a Good Way Consulting, focusing on the creation of reconciliatory legacies with organizations. Angela is a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, where she served for 25 years. She currently sits on the board of the Stó:lō Service Agency, which supports Stó:lō and Aboriginal communities in S’ólh Téméxw’. She holds a BA, an MA in leadership, and a graduate certificate in change management. She also teaches at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. For over ten years, Angela has walked with, supported and advocated for survivors in various capacities.

Larissa Maxwell

Board Member

Larissa is the CEO of The Maxwell Consulting Group, where she builds responsible, accountable and purpose-driven businesses. She leads environmental, social, and governance strategies with Fortune 500 companies, governments, health-care systems and the justice sector — advancing efforts that protect ecosystems, reduce human suffering and create lasting systemic change. A clinical therapist and leadership coach, Larissa brings 19 years of direct experience in anti-human trafficking efforts, ethical storytelling, equity innovation and systemic advocacy. She is currently completing a PhD in ethical storytelling at the University of British Columbia

Laine McGarragle

Board Member

Laine McGarragle is the Head of Customer Success at AucctusAI. Laine is a lawyer and innovation leader who helps companies ideate, de-risk, and launch new business solutions. She cares deeply about empowering survivors and advancing legislative change to end human trafficking in Canada. Laine has worked in both English and French with Community Legal Aid and Avocats sans frontières (Lawyers Without Borders), advocating for vulnerable populations.
