This Privacy Statement relates solely to the online information collection and use practices of our Web site located at www.ccteht.ca (this “Web Site”), and not to any subdomains of this Web Site. We recognize that many visitors and users of this Web Site are concerned about the information they provide to us, and how we treat that information. This Privacy Statement, which may be updated from time to time, has been developed to address those concerns. The Centre values the privacy of its donors, supporters, employees, program clients and research subjects. The Centre does not sell, trade or share information about donors, partners, program clients or mailing lists with any organization or third party.

What Information About You Do We Collect?

When you visit our Web Site, you may provide us with two types of information: (1) personally identifiable information that you knowingly choose to disclose, which is collected on an individual basis, and (2) general user information that does not contain personally identifiable information, which is collected on an aggregate basis as you browse the Web Site. In some cases, if you choose not to provide us with requested information, you may not be able to access all of our Web Site’s content or services.

Personally Identifiable Information You Choose to Provide.
We may ask for certain personal information from you for the purpose of providing to you content and/or services that you request. For example, if you indicate an interest in receiving newsletters about The Centre, you are asked to submit your name and e-mail address, which we retain on file, so that we may send you the information that you requested. We also request your name and e-mail address each time you contact us by clicking on the “Contact Us” link. We may retain a record of users who have contacted us in order to respond properly to questions or concerns and for purposes of future communications.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information We Collect.
Cookies/ Web server logs: Similar to other commercial Web sites, our Web Site utilizes standard technology called “cookies” and Web server logs to collect information about how our Web Site is used. How Do You Access And/Or Modify Your Information or Choices?

You can update your preferences regarding what information you want to receive from us or be removed from any active database The Centre may own or operate. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to ensure encryption and to maintain the security of the personally identifiable information that we collect, including limiting the number of people who have physical access to our database servers, as well as installing electronic security systems like password protection that guard against unauthorized access. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us, so you do so at your own risk. The Centre is legally bound the provisions set out in the Digital Privacy Act and will notify the Privacy Commissioner and partners, donors, program clients or mailing list members of any security breach.

Online Donations

Online donations are processed through a secure server with the third party vendor PayPal. Information provided by the donor through the online donation form will be accessible by PayPal in order to complete the transaction as indicated in PayPal’s privacy policy. Donor information in only retained as long as is it needed by PayPal to process the gift. PayPal does not sell, trade or share personal or credit card information with any other third party.

Duty to Report

The Centre is legally obliged to report any situation involving a minor (under the age of 16) that is considered dangerous or that a reasonable person would believe that a minor child is in need of protection.

Copy Right Restrictions

This website is owned and operated by The Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking. Any content, including images, logos, software, systems, trademarks, processes, trade and and other info contained a propriety to The Centre unless expressly stated otherwise.

 These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws in the province of Ontario and laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising here from shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
